Last week one of my Twitter friends shared a link with me. It was the news that Caballo Blanco (Micah True) had gone missing whilst out running. I was saddened to read the news, but, deep down, believed that it was just people over reacting. The man has a reputation of not conforming, and of being a loner, after all.
Rest in Peace Micah True – it was an honour to meet you! is a post from: RunFatGirlRun

Ours was the third race of the day and it was great to see everyone from toddlers to grandparents taking part, some in some rather hot costumes it has to be said and there was an excellent atmosphere.
Sport Relief Mile – well more like 3 miles actually! is a post from: RunFatGirlRun

I knew before Brass Monkey that I had a problem with my hip, or to give it the correct name, my Iliac Crest. It had been bothering me whenever I tried to run or even walk over 6 miles. I seemed to be okay on shorter distances as long as I made sure I did a crossed ankle style stretch after my run. Of course the headwind (I really must stop going on about that headwind but it was a shocker) just made things that much worse and I am finally getting the physio I self referred for at the beginning of the year.
This physio’s taking longer than I thought is a post from: RunFatGirlRun

What can I say? I am getting rather used to hearing or reading these words in connection with ballots for races. I'm starting to get a little paranoid truth be told! After all, I wouldn't have entered them if I hadn't wanted to take part.
That's right, I've now been rejected for the Great North Run, although technically this is my second rejection for it for this years race as I have already missed out on the early bird ballot that was being run by one of the national newspapers.
We regret to inform you… is a post from: RunFatGirlRun

Having recently reviewed Endomondo as a phone app I thought it would be worth giving you a bit of an update on how much it has helped me over the past few weeks.

But first I'd like to suggest a use for Endomondo that most people probably overlook, it came to me yesterday when my sister in law commented she had been watching me live between miles 7 and 11 in my first Half Marathon attempt. Many of us train alone, its a sign of our busy lifestyles that we can't always run with others. Now I have already recommended running with RoadID in case you get hurt, but here's another idea for the lone runner.
Endomondo is a great training partner is a post from: RunFatGirlRun

It's my first Half Marathon. Eek! Okay, deep breath. I've got up to 9.6 miles on my long runs with Cathy, I can do this, possibly not in the cut off time allowed but we're running to finish tomorrow, not for a time.
It’s Saturday afternoon and I’m working… is a post from: RunFatGirlRun

I went to the Doctors last week, not sure if I told you before but I have been having some trouble with my hip, well I call it my hip, it's at the top of my leg on the left hand side. Turns out it is my Iliac Crest.
I'm pretty certain this goes back ten years to when I was expecting my beloved daughter and stumbled over the edge of the rug. It was quite late on in pregnancy, I didn't actually fall, but I did end up on crutches for the last few weeks, it was too painful to walk anywhere without them. Anyone who know's me can imaging what I thought of the midwife who induced me and told me to spend the rest of the day walking round. Let's just say she nearly ended up wearing one of the crutches! Anyway bundle of joy arrives and hip problem disappears, or rather goes into hiding for a long time.
Iliac Crest – Who’d have guessed is a post from: RunFatGirlRun

Having spent most of December 'on the bench' due to a virus I recently managed a Boxing Day run followed by a New Year run yesterday. It was something I needed to do to get my head back in the right place. It struck me whilst out running that physical fitness isn't all that comes to bear when running, it's just a part of it, and that a great part of it that we don't normally consider is the mental aspect.

When you have been ill or injured you get out of the habit, you find excuses to stop you going out and you convince yourself that this is for the best.

When you're out running that little voice in your head is telling you that you can't do this, you should be home with your feet on the sofa.
Running isn’t all about your legs! is a post from: RunFatGirlRun
