Some people get a medal at the end of a race, sometimes a t-shirt, at London Marathon we were spoiled and got both. Now, alongside the many photos I have to remember the day by, I have another lasting memento – my new book ‘It’s just four times round the Village’.

The story starts almost five years ago, when I was a contented sofa surfer of sixteen years, and most definitely not a runner! It follows the ups and downs as I go from training for my first 10k and all the way through to London Marathon.

This book was written for those of you dreaming of running London Marathon from the comfort of your armchair, people like me who don’t have the natural inclination to run, and those surrounded by people telling you that you can’t or shouldn’t.

Because there is one thing that I have learned, if I can do it, then anyone can!

This book is a fun read about one woman’s journey to the London Marathon. It’s warm, funny and has genuine laugh out loud moments.

I’m not sure I’ve the courage to put on my running shoes (although I have moved from the sofa) and run a marathon.

A really enjoyable read, and Helen’s story is very inspiring.
