…partly because my daughter is at her Grandparents for the weekend, partly because it’s raining – again, but mostly as it’s a good way to stop thinking about tomorrow.

It’s my first Half Marathon. Eek! Okay, deep breath.  I’ve got up to 9.6 miles on my long runs with Cathy, I can do this, possibly not in the cut off time allowed but we’re running to finish tomorrow, not for a time.

My husband suspects its going to rain tomorrow, now there’s a surprise based on the rest of this week – not.

At least it won’t be sheet ice like it was in Thirsk back in 2008, at least it won’t be freezing cold.  I can run in rain, I’ve done it before.

Part of me is quietly confident, part of me is scared to death, and the rest of me is just bouyed up by so many messages of support from my online and offline friends.

The hip is still bothering me, but what’s new there, the referral has been sent to the physio so I am hapy that it’s going to get sorted in the near future, and while the virus hasn’t completely gone I feel a lot better than I did earlier in the week, neither are bad enough to cause me to drop out.

I’m still haunted by Thirsk 10, it was a truly horrible experience that nearly stopped me running.  I got to the half way mark and something went, but I finished.  I was on my own in the middle of nowhere in the freezing cold and on sheet ice.  Tomorrow will be more familiar territory and I will have a friend to run with.  It makes a huge difference.

So I am getting back to my work, having an early night and being positive, I can do this, I will do this!
